There are some
trends that really should stay in the past; MC Hammer pants, crimped hair and
bum bags to name a few. It seems that every year something old reappears and
the trend hunters go mad for the ironic nostalgia or in many cases the
misjudged joy that neon tutu’s are a brand new find. There are however certain
trends which really should stay around for ever, one trend in particular that I
personally hope sticks around is rockabilly. The 50’s symbolised a time when
women were celebrated their curves with sleek pencil skirts, structured dresses
and seamed stockings. Fast forward to the present day and
rockabilly is back on top, high street stores are full of head scarves, vintage
prints and shoes that are designed for strutting, not walking!
For an easy
rockabilly outfit throw together a black pencil skirt with a gingham shirt and
finish the look with a head scarf. Wedge shoes are the perfect match for a
rockabilly look and will ensure that you can show off your new look whilst also
maintaining your balance!
Even if you are
not feeling your best, putting together a rockabilly inspired outfit will leave
you feeling pushed up and pulled in in all the right places. With a dash of
leopard print and a hint of gingham you will soon be channelling the classic
pin up style. Finish off your look with
a slick of red lipstick and black kohl eyeliner and get ready to unleash your
inner Bettie Page. Rockabilly fashion is one trend that will hopefully never be
put to rest, celebrate your curves and prepare to turn heads when you revisit
the glamour of the 1950’s.
